Seconds take another big loss

Bath v Bath Seconds

West Division 1

25 October 2014

Final Score Bath 23:2 Bath Seconds

Seconds go down fighting

Bath second might be right in saying that in the first three matches this season they have played possibly the top three teams ibn the division, only Southampton remain from the divisions “big guns”

The captains agreed to play the game using the squads available, rather than mix and match to give experience. So it was that Bath 2’s found themselves in another back to wall scenario. Not that the firsts had it all their own way, at face Ken Murray found Lloyd Wallace a real handful (Lloyds first time at face off) and the Defence of Sam Miselbach, Sam Edwards and Paul Bown coped with the fast paced first team attack pretty well, coming up with some good ground ball and clearing up field at pace.  Duncan Potts, back from a knee injury drove at the seniors relentlessly.

But in the end the Firsts better team work and know how proved too much, cuts were faster and choice of pass more effective, Adam Wilkinson having a particularly good match, albeit in his own style. Nige Gates in the second’s goal for this one was certainly the busier of the two keepers.

Bath’s first team lack a true outside shot at the moment, add that to an effective cutting attack and the Division could be within their reach.
