Bath host new England Lacrosse First Aid course

Bath Lacrosse hosted the new England Lacrosse First Aid course  on Saturday 22nd August, delivered by Tom from Oodles Training.

This excellent course provides Level 2 certification, with all the elements of what you would expect from such a course with a special bias towards lacrosse-type injuries.

Beth Storey, Gareth Davies and Victoria Westwood were really put through their paces. A full day learning about the 3Ps, looking for DRAB, the ins and outs of CPR and how to use a Defibrillator, the importance of Injury Assessment and Accident Records, the complicated field of head injuries, concussion and AVPU and, of course, using RICE and SAMPLE!

Due to the current pandemic, the day was a little different to the usual First Aid courses as Covid-19 social distancing protocols and PPE were used throughout with added instructions and advice on the ways First Aiders have had to change recognised practice in light of the current pandemic.

A hugely informative day and congratulations to the three Bath participants who all passed with flying colours!
