Great fun in the rain

Mixed Lacrosse – Bath v Bath University

Competition: Friendly

4th October 2020

Final Score Bath 4:11 Bath Uni

This season, Bath LC is determined to grow the Men’s and Women’s section of the club, Mixed Lacrosse is a great social way of getting the club together, and to give players that may find the full field game not to their immediate taste a chance to play some competitive lacrosse.

Sunday the 4th October saw a great Mixed match up at Odd Down between Bath and local opponents Bath Uni, despite the heavy rain it was a great occasion played in a fabulous spirit of friendly competition.

Bath were short a few male players due the recommended 72 hour COVID time of separation between group gatherings having played a league game the day before, so the students kindly allowed some players to put on Bath colours to even up the numbers a little.

For some players on the Bath side it gave an opportunity to see some high-level players in action as the University has several internationals in their ranks.

The game was end to end lacrosse with the students experience players dominating, and the score line of 11:4 to the University reflected this.

This is something that the club will look to repeating as often as the crowded fixture list will allow. It helps new players like Elize (a whole two weeks into her lacrosse playing career) get into the game and further strengthens the link between the club and University.

A particular thank you to Finn for standing in Bath goal allowing Mark Lane (Bath’s Men’s keeper) to get onto the field and show his skills with a field stick.

Great day, great fun shame about the rain.
