Final Score Bath 6:12
This has been a good competition for Bath’s Women’s team, beating some good opposition on the way to the final of the SW Invitational cup.
The Women’s team, despite struggling to get together in numbers for training has a decent roster, and on their day, with a full turnout can be a force to be reconned with.
So it was with high hopes that the Final might produce the first silverware for the ever growing, hard-working Bath squad.
Cheltenham however had other ideas, the Gloucester outfit are a tight unit, well drilled and deserve the title of favourites
The game was even all over the field, both defences playing well, transition effective and settled play organised, the big difference on the day was the conversion of the chances, Bath fielding an outfield player in goal managed to protect the cage for the majority of the game, but inevitably the strong Cheltenham attack was going to get through for a clear shot.
Despite some great saves, Cheltenham slowly drew ahead in the second half as the Bath’s defence began to feel the strain of working very hard in defence.
A well-deserved win for Cheltenham, and for Bath a slightly disappointing end to what has been the best season on record, and the players should be proud of their achievements this season.
