New hosting opportunity

Bath starts new relationship with Hampset Cricket club

Hampset Cricket club is a stone’s throw from Odd Down, where Bath LC play home games on the 3G and train late Tuesday nights

One of the difficulties faced by Bath LC is the ability to host traveling teams and socialise after the games.

Currently, pizza’s are ordered into the changing rooms at Odd Down, and the local pub is on offer for a pint afterward, it’s a busy pub and far from ideal.

The arrangement with Hampset is quite simple – Summer training in August and the use of the clubhouse for after match refreshments. This is available as the Lacrosse members have become playing members of the cricket club.

Bath LC held the recent AGM at the cricket club which helped members picture the possiblities of the arrangement.

The clubhouse has a bar, pool table, darts and skittles alley and more importantly (for some) a kitchen where after match food can be prepared.

There are other ideas/plans in the future – Christmas and end of season socials, juniors in the winter at weekends to name but two.

So on the 5th August 2025, Bath held its first training session at the club, mixed age and gender in glorious sunshine. Plus a beer afterwards – heaven.
