The Annual Bath Eights tournament was founded in 1986, the idea being to put the new club on the Lacrosse Map.
It started on two pitches with 12 teams and very relaxed, the inaugural winners being the Low Profilers, a touring team formed in Sheffield. Since then the tournament has grown unrecognisably, so big the recreation ground, the original venue can no longer accommodate.
Now it’s on 10 pitches with 33 Men’s teams and since 2017, 25 women’s teams – that’s nearly 700 lacrosse players in one place, playing the best game in the world and making friends.
The logistics are impressive, goals (20), catch nets (24) Gazebos (2) all up and down on a day.
Lilley’s Cider has supported the event since 2007, the founder Chris Lilley has been a friend to the tournament since the first one, providing infrastructure, expertise and often sponsoring the whole event.
Although the 41st year, due to COVID 2026 is the 40th Men’s event. To celebrate the winners will take away a commemorative engraved plate
