The new Youth programme on Saturday afternoons is up and running, and week two saw fourteen young people playing the great game of Lacrosse.
In week one the coaches concentrated on getting the brand-new players up to speed with the lacrosse skills using soft compound balls for safety, and at the end of the session all the players got to wear the protective lacrosse gloves, some even tried a helmet.
In Week two the players had advanced so quickly that all were able to play in helmets and gloves, which allowed for the use of actual lacrosse balls.
In both weeks there was a Men’s game taking part at the same time, and the youngsters were able to get onto the 3G at half time, meet the captains and take a few shots at the 1st team keepers.
Every week finishes with a scrimmage, working on team play and ball movement, but most importantly working on having fun.
Bath LC are still recruiting; and can accommodate new players at any time, just fill in the enquiry form and the coaches will get back to you.
