Week 5 of the new junior programme saw 6 new players sign up to play lacrosse, word is getting around.
The success of the programme has caused the pleasant problem of – wait for it – running out of kit. Helmets to be precise.
At the moment the club has 20 serviceable helmets, a mixture of the batch bought in 2002 for the first junior programme, some donated from players and a few bought in between.
The players are really getting to grips with the equipment, and, as a result the standard of lacrosse across the board is improving, some good movement and passing plays. One of the older boys has also tried a long pole.
Next week the club has the whole pitch booked for as near to a real match situation as possible before the summer break
